OPSWAT Academy Hosts Durham Student Visit Through USF Immersion Program

As part of the ongoing partnership between OPSWAT Academy and the University of San Francisco (USF), we recently welcomed two groups of MSc. Business Analytics students from Durham University (UK) to the OPSWAT San Francisco office. Their visit took place under USF’s Silicon Valley Immersion Program, which centers on business analytics, machine learning, and AI.

The session was led by Dan Lanir, Senior VP of Customer Experience, who shared how OPSWAT is incorporating AI and machine learning across its products and operations, including engineering and customer experience, to enhance its cybersecurity solutions that help protect critical infrastructure. He also touched on the potential risks of AI misuse and how OPSWAT’s technologies are designed to safeguard against them. The discussion gave students a broad view of how emerging technologies are shaping real-world security practices.

Following the session, the students had a chance to experience the OPSWAT CIP Lab, which demonstrates key functions like OT data flow and OPSWAT’s role in IT and OT cybersecurity. The lab visit provided valuable context on how cybersecurity tools are applied in critical environments.

This visit offered a valuable opportunity for students to connect their academic focus in analytics and AI with the practical demands of the cybersecurity industry. It also reflected OPSWAT Academy’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and encouraging future professionals to explore careers that protect critical infrastructure.
