Building Deeper Education Partnerships in Singapore with Association of Information Security Professionals

In late January, OPSWAT Academy formalized a new scholarship partnership under its Scholarship Program with the Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP) during the SVRP Awards Ceremony 2025 in Singapore. Sponsored by OPSWAT, the event provided the setting for the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking an important milestone in the shared effort to strengthen cybersecurity education and talent development in the region.

The Student Volunteer Recognition Programme (SVRP) Awards Ceremony aims to encourage students to explore their potential in cybersecurity while developing personal and professional skills through volunteerism. The event was made especially meaningful with the participation of the Guest of Honour from Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information, underscoring the importance of collaboration between industry, education, and government in building a future-ready cybersecurity workforce.

The scholarship partnership will provide AiSP members with access to selected OPSWAT Academy courses, enabling them to strengthen practical skills through industry-relevant training. Courses offered through the scholarship are eligible for ISC2 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit submission, allowing participants to maintain globally recognized cybersecurity certifications while developing hands-on expertise to protect critical digital infrastructure.

As Singapore’s independent cybersecurity association, AiSP plays a key role in supporting the development of information security professionals across technical and leadership domains. Through its emphasis on professional integrity, skills development, and knowledge sharing, AiSP contributes to the growth of a strong and resilient national cybersecurity ecosystem.

Beyond technical tools, the most important capabilities are strong cyber fundamentals, an understanding of IT–OT convergence, and the ability to apply security principles in real-world operational environments. Through our partnerships with AISP and ITE, OPSWAT supports national workforce development by embedding industry-relevant, hands-on cybersecurity training into education and skills pathways. Through OPSWAT Academy, we are helping to equip students and mid-career learners with practical skills that improve employability while strengthening Singapore’s long-term cyber resilience across critical sectors.

Through the Scholarship Program, eligible AiSP members will gain access to specialized training in areas including malware prevention, secure file transfer, and critical infrastructure protection. Details on course availability and participation will be shared directly with the AiSP community.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision between OPSWAT Academy and AiSP to support a safe cyberspace through a skilled, capable, and future-ready cybersecurity workforce.
